Cost of living reality check -Church Hill
Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $1,041/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
