Best areas to explore in Churubusco?

Anyone else feel this way? We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $689 for rent here. With a population of 1,894, Churubusco is a small town. Homes are going for about $137,600 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thanks for reading. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from New York about 8 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

I'm a sales manager and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
