Just moved to Cicero from Atlanta — first impressions

We made the move 3 ago and here are my first impressions:

People are genuinely friendly here. Rent runs about $1,121/month for a typical apartment. Weather is moderate — about 52F average.

Biggest surprise: How much I actually like it here
Biggest disappointment: The winters are rougher than expected

Overall, I plan to stay long-term.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Lakewood. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Eastside and Eastside are perfectly safe.

Check out the Old Town area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.
