Relocating to Cicero, IL -pros and cons?
Hi all, I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I overthinking this?

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Atlanta about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
