Curious what people think. We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,121 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The walkability is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
