Rent in Cincinnati getting crazy

First post here. Crime rate is something to consider — Cincinnati sits at 844.6 per 100K. The median home value here is around $215,300, which is actually reasonable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (West) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
