Working remotely from Citrus

Hello, I've been here for 6 years and The median home value here is around $614,200, which is pretty steep. Poverty rate is 5.5%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.
