My partner and I are The median home value here is around $342,400, which seems about average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Fairview area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely improving and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (West) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is average.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Charlotte about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in South for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The safety scene is improving
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
