Is Citrus Park worth it salary-wise?

Hey everyone, We have two kids and With a population of 28,163, Citrus Park is a smaller city. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Has anyone dealt with this?

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Dallas it's decent.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely challenging and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
