Random thought, I'm a teacher here and It's a a smaller city city with about 28,163 people. With a population of 28,163, Citrus Park is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 9.1%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a marketing manager, 57, moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Greenfield and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Limited shopping options
3. The traffic situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for young professionals. average vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
