Just moved to Claiborne, any tips?

First post here. I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 12,647 people. Rent is about $1,181/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.
