How is Claremont for outdoor activities?

Hey everyone, The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much competitive but now it's hit or miss.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
