Best neighborhoods in Claremore

Anyone else feel this way? Household incomes average around $57,120 in Claremore. Crime rate is something to consider -Claremore sits at 122.4 per 100K. Rent is about $978/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
What are your go-to spots? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Minneapolis about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is solid.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 51, moved here 11 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The food scene situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for families. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely decent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Springfield) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
