Relocating to Claremore, OK -pros and cons?

Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $57,120, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $172,500 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2020 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.
