Is Clarence getting better or worse?

First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Clarence sits at 31.3 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 1,223 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 8 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 7 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Austin about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..
