Is public transit usable in Clarendon Hills?

First post here. Rent is about $1,124/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Would love some local perspective. Thanks for reading. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Moved here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. it's been a really good experience overall. Still getting used to food scene but No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Highland for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 14 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
