Alright, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,573 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Clarks Green sits at 15.3 per 100K. Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Would love some local perspective. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in consulting here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is improving. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Midtown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (East) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
