Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $1,355 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 6.4%, which is concerning. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Worth the trade-offs? Appreciate any input. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I work in real estate here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Hope this helps!.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
