Moving to Clarksville for work -advice?

Hi all, Homes are going for about $172,700 on average. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a small town city with about 22,121 people. Rent is about $1,031/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.
