Hey everyone, It's a a mid-size city city with about 172K people. Rent is about $1,215/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Appreciate any input. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from San Francisco about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
