Cost of living reality check — Clarksville

Hello, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider — Clarksville sits at 578.8 per 100K. It's a a mid-size city city with about 172K people. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Highland) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
