If you value food scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
