Best and worst neighborhoods in Clay

First post here. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. With a population of 10,288, Clay is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What would you do? Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 7 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Asian places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
