Housing market in Clay right now

I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $1,373 for rent here. With a population of 10,288, Clay is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 10,288 people. Poverty rate is 7.7%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Diverse community
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Limited dining options
- Mosquitoes and humidity

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

I'm a writer and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Downtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- The dating scene scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
