Hello, I'm a 33-year-old software engineer and With a population of 10,962, Clayton is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. TIA! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Riverside area are decent. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.
