Should I move to Clayton or stay in Kansas City?

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $799,200 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,648 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much established but now it's improving.

Moved here from Houston about 2 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to nightlife but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 12 years. Moved from LA for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is improving - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Limited high-paying job options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
