Anyone regret moving to Clayton?

Curious what people think. I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 28,043 people. Rent is about $1,542/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Is this normal for Clayton? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
