Commute times in Clearwater -how bad?

Hello, Crime rate is something to consider -Clearwater sits at 399.3 per 100K. With a population of 117K, Clearwater is a mid-size city. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in West for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The traffic scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.
