Been meaning to ask this. Median household income is $69,536, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,233 for rent here. Poverty rate is 9.1%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Clementon sits at 264.3 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2018 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a lawyer, 50, moved here 7 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Fairview and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The healthcare situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for retirees. tough vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (West) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
