Hello, What do you all think? Any help is appreciated. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 9 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Denver it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Portland about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..
