Life in Cleveland as a young professional

Hey everyone, I work in hospitality and Crime rate is something to consider -Cleveland sits at 1,238.3 per 100K. The median home value here is around $162,300, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Would love some local perspective. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
