Curious what people think. I'm a 53-year-old sales rep and The unemployment rate is 6.9%, which is concerning. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Sunset for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The job market scene is average
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 7 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..
