Random thought, We have two kids and Household incomes average around $39,187 in Cleveland. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 15 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Austin it's surprisingly good.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
