Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 13 months ago and Household incomes average around $55,904 in Cleveland. With a population of 48,185, Cleveland is a smaller city. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Cleveland? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is solid.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Greenfield. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- The healthcare scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 9 years. Moved from Seattle for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is improving - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited entertainment options. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
