Cleveland housing prices -when will it stop?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Kansas City and Homes are going for about $153,200 on average. It's a a small town city with about 8,137 people. Median household income is $54,888, which feels on the lower side for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Midtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- The job market scene is solid

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 14 years. Moved from Charlotte for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Chain restaurants dominate. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is decent in most areas.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I work in government here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The public transit is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
