Hey, I'm originally from Miami and With a population of 25,580, Cliffside Park is a smaller city. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The housing market is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 9 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is challenging.

I've been here 1 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much wild but now it's pretty good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
