Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 7 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Tampa it's average.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.
