Best industries in Clinton right now

I'm a teacher here and It's a a small town city with about 24,425 people. The median home value here is around $115,400, which is actually reasonable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in West area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from San Francisco about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 58, moved here 15 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Eastside and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Close to major attractions
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Can feel isolated
3. The cultural scene situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
