Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. It's a a smaller city city with about 38,756 people. Household incomes average around $120,967 in Clinton. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I work in consulting here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is tough. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Meadowbrook for 5 years. Moved from Boston for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Chain restaurants dominate. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The pet-friendliness is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
