I'm a 27-year-old lawyer and You can expect to pay around $888 for rent here. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The food scene is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.
