OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 57, moved here 7 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Riverside and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The community vibe situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for retirees. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely decent and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much established but now it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Atlanta about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in North for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The cost of living scene is improving

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
