OK so I'm single, late 50s, and Poverty rate is 4.2%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $109,915 in Clinton. Crime rate is something to consider -Clinton sits at 75.4 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Clinton? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much manageable but now it's better than expected.

I've lived in Springfield for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is improving
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Cedar Grove for 14 years. Moved from Charlotte for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Summers can be brutally hot. And walkability can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
