The suburbs are where most families end up. Would love some local perspective. TIA!

Bought a house here in 2015 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is underrated in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The weather is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for work and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The safety is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a contractor, 53, moved here 4 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in The Heights and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The traffic situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for singles. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
