Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've lived in South for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- The cultural scene scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cultural scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 3 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in West area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 1 years. Moved from San Francisco for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Property taxes are high. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
