First post here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in West for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from New York about 8 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..
