Commute times in Clovis -how bad?

So, We're a young couple and Rent is about $947/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 18.8%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a smaller city city with about 38,153 people. Median household income is $54,029, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $160,000 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (North) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
