So, I'm a teacher here and With a population of 38,153, Clovis is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $54,029 in Clovis. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Houston it's tough.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Riverside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in North for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Tampa about 14 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.
