Random thought, We're a young couple and You can expect to pay around $735 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Clyde?

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great BBQ places. it's been a really good experience overall.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's tough.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a pharmacist, 46, moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in Sunset and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The job market situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for couples. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $40K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for work and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The school system is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from LA about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..
