Hey folks, I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 11.1%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,115/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? TIA! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..
