What Coachella does better than anywhere else

Hello, The median home value here is around $341,300, which seems about average. You can expect to pay around $1,115 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here? Thanks in advance!

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The safety is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely solid and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (West) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Asian.
